Poem: Another Ugly Day

June 9, 2012
tags: ,

Just another ugly day
in the week of an ugly man.

Physique of a patient,
dressed up best he can.

He sees himself in a photograph,
feels himself folding up inside
and wishes he could hide.

He sees himself in a mirror,
feels himself shrinking down inside
and wishes he could cry.

But he must have used it
all up in youth,
for nothing’s coming now.

Just the empty sadness
and the need to write it down.
